The champ MAIN DEFENDER is back in action tomorrow at Turffontein in race 8 (Pinnacle Stakes) at 16:25.

Remember, MAIN DEFENDER was controversially scratched in the 2024 Betway Summer Cup.

Prior to that on 4 May 2024 at Greyville, MAIN DEFENDER failed the TC02 test. The upset that this caused, forced the racing authorities to abandon races 6 to 10.

After receiving 437mm of rain in July, the Cape Storm hit on Thursday and this resulted in flooding across all the facilities.

Unfortunately, a further 60mm of rain was received over the weekend, more than forecast. This extra rainfall has left the track just short of recovery time for the race.

SEE IT AGAIN was running well up to this point and may easily have made 2nd place or better had his run not being checked.
