South African trainer Brett Crawford celebrated a double at Sha Tin’s all-dirt meeting on Wednesday with Celestial Harmony under Lyle Hewitson in the Class 5 Silvermine Handicap and Speedy Smartie, who thrashed his rivals in the first section of the Class 4 Marble Handicap for Karis Teetan.

PS: Both the SA-born Hewitson and the Mauritian Teetan are proudly graduates of the SA Jockey Academy.

The reigning SA champion jockey, Gavin Lerena has two Grade 1 victories under the belt on the former Vaughan Marshall-trained colt, who races under the Graham Motion banner and tries the 1800m for the first time in his career.

One Stripe won an Optional Allowance Claiming race with ease at the end of December.
