PISTOL PETE (Richard Fourie) storms clear as COSMIC STAR (Muzi Yeni) stays on for second

In a rousing finish, PISTOL PETE (10-1) stormed clear in a time of 69,29 secs for the 1160m to beat the gallant COSMIC STAR (20-1) by 0,70 lengths, with Robyn Klaasen’s 3yo CHARMING CHEETAH (10-1) a further 2,20 lengths away in third.

KING PELLES has had a perfect preparation heading into this contest. He lost two lengths leaving the start over 1600m at Hollywoodbets Greyville last time, but the way he finished off his race was eye-catching.
