Flavours of Green & Gold: Friday Night Racing returns to Hollywoodbets Greyville

Hollywoodbets Greyville is going green and gold on Friday, 11 September. Enjoy an evening packed with racing action, live entertainment, delicious food, drinks specials and a special signing session with Makazole Mapimpi and Phepsi Buthelezi.

This edition brings a Flavours of Green & Gold theme to the track, giving fans the perfect opportunity to enjoy a night out with friends and family.

Entry is free, with gates opening at 15:00. Alongside the exciting eight-race card, there will be live entertainment, delicious street food, drinks specials and plenty happening on course throughout the evening.

And there’s an extra treat for the first 50 patrons through the gates, a complimentary Springbokkie shooter.

Rugby superstars Makazole Mapimpi and Phendulani “Phepsi” Buthelezi are set to mingle.

The back-to-back Rugby World Cup winner, Mapimpi, and one of South Africa’s most exciting loose forwards, Buthelezi, will take part in a signing session this Friday, which is expected to add to the spirit of the Green and Gold ahead of the highly anticipated Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry series finale on Saturday.

Mapimpi is one of South African rugby’s royalty, having become the first South African to score a try in a Rugby World Cup final when he crossed the whitewash against England in 2019 before defending the trophy in 2023.

Buthelezi is one of the finest rugby players to emerge from KwaZulu-Natal and played an important role in helping the Hollywoodbets Sharks lift the 2024 EPCR Challenge Cup.

This is an exciting opportunity for you to meet two of South African rugby’s stars before they turn their attention to the serious business ahead of another demanding 2026/27 season.   

The racing action won’t be the only entertainment on the night. There’ll be plenty of opportunities to capture the memories, with Sharkie and Dolphi joining us on course. Bring your phone along and get a picture with the much-loved mascots.
