Entertainment at the Cape Town MET

Set against the backdrop of Kenilworth Racecourse's rolling lawns, the Cape Town MET welcomes one and all to a celebration of sophisticated hospitality and elegance, high fashion and top personalities and influencers.

The Cape Town MET is one of the Mother City's most celebrated and prestigious social events. The official theme is the Glam Garden.

The all-day event features twelve races with the country's top horses. These are top races with five graded races:

• Grade 3 - CAPE RACING POLITICIAN STAKES
  (3 year olds)
• Grade 1 - PONGRACZ CAPE FLYING CHAMPIONSHIP
  (Open to horses at Weight For Age)
• Grade 1 - SCHWEPPES MAJORCA STAKES
  (For Fillies and Mares at weight for age)
• Grade 1 - WORLD SPORTS BETTING CAPE TOWN MET
  (Open to horses at Weight For Age) - Main event
• Grade 2 - NEW TURF CARRIERS WESTERN CAPE STAYERS
  (Open to horses aged 3 years or older)

The fabulous Zakes Bantwini will be headlining the entertainment, GoodLuck will get the party going and DJs Dean Fuel and Desiree will keep the dance floor pumping.

Tickets are available for purchase on Webtickets or in any Pick n Pay store nationwide. Admission options start at R40 per person for general admission and the grandstand access will cost R100 per person. Access to the exclusive areas with hospitality starts at R1000 for two people.

"The MET" was originally called The Metropolitan Mile. The name was shortened to The MET in 1883.
