Who are "Live the Fantasy"? They are a group of the top Fantasy Racing players. Here is the Live the Fantasy review for today.
We start the week with a postponed meeting from the weekend and are faced with an open card.
The LTF team try to make the card simple for you and here is a summary of the contenders for honours on the rest of the card.
Race 1: BOMBER GIRL who showed good speed in the Grade 3 Strelitzia Stakes last time out. The form line horse in this race is CAPTAINS CHRISTY who finished third in the Stelitzia Stakes and beat MIA'S ATHENA and AFRICAN BEAT on debut. MIA'S ATHENA, who was also a debutant, challenged CAPTAINS CHRISTY on the day while AFRICAN BEAT faded. The Improver in this race may be MADAME POMPADOUR who was backed in the race where BOMBER GIRL ran second however suffered interference at a crucial stage and cast a shoe. MIA'S ATHENA is taken to beat AFRICAN BEAT, BOMBER GIRL and MADAME POMPADOUR.
Race 2: ICEY BLAST should have the beating of this field after campaigning against stronger opposition at Kenilworth.
Race 3: MAIN DEFENDER was an unexpected winner on this course over 1100M. He was underdone that day and will be more suited to this trip on breeding. FIBONACCI showed the expected improvement in his last start at Greyville and will have a say in this contest WINTER FROLIC caught the eye on debut over this distance at Greyville. She came from a wide draw that day, raced three wide and hung in when running on from the back. She races against male opposition with a galloping mass of 54kg and gets 6kg from MAIN .Others to keep an eye out for are NELSON BAY who ran a good third over the course and distance against ERMELO, NINETY NINE HEROS, JET BUND who has his first run after gelding and MORNING CHESS who may be better suited to the distance after a fair debut.
Race 4: The two year old colts TRUSOVA and THISISWHATITMEANS take on the three year olds POWER STAR who has shown consistent form, REACH FOR THE STARS whose last run is best ignored and FLAMING DRUM. Trainer Peter Muscutts charges have both finished their races off strongly and are set to fight it out all the way to the line. Two bankers to win will be the way to go in the quartet.
Race 5: The two year old BOSNAY takes on the two year older MYTHICAL TUNE who has been a consistent place getter in twelve runs. This is a race where the three year olds, ST CLOUD, NTOMBENHLE and LA DAME DRAPEAU and THEAPPLEOFMYEYE are all expected to improve. The best play here is double floating bankers BOSNAY and MYTHICAL TUNE in the quartets.
Race 6: ALPHA BETTY had her merit rating increased by 11 points for running seventh in a listed race against SAARTJIE and if the handicapper is wrong then FABULOUS, LUCKY MISS, FAIZA and FELLING GROOVY could have a say in the finish.
Race 7: PROFESSOR SNAPE was a backed and beaten favourite in his last run. He was balked for a clear run all the way down the straight and should atone here. SEQUOIA is the only danger to the selection.
Race 8: Another competitive race with three horses set to fight out the finish in ENSUING, GIMME A RAINBOW and CHEEKY LADDIE who has his second run after gelding.
Race 9: This is an open race to close the meeting. DIAMOND GIRL is a course and distance specialist. She could find cheek from AGA HEAT who was backed to win her last start, PRNCESS OZMA, who returns to the sprint distance where she has won and placed from three runs. LA PURA VIDA, HARLEYS FATE, PELARGONIUM and CERTAINLY could all have a say.
