Live the Fantasy - 20 May

Who are "Live the Fantasy"? They are a group of the top Fantasy Racing players. Here is the Live the Fantasy review for today.

Kenilworth today sees the running of the first legs of the Western Cape Winter Series. We start with the WSB Legal Eagle Stakes (Grade 3) and the WSB Ladies Mile (listed).

In the Legal Eagle Stakes we have some horses who are making their last stand to raise their merit rating to challenge for a place in the Durban July. Justin Snaith challenges for top honours with four runners. Stable jockey Richard Fourie who is yet to make his choice on his Durban July mount has opted to ride ROCKPOOL over the older POMP AND POWER in the Legal Eagle Stakes. QUESTION MASTER has already won his place in the July line-up and is currently the third favourite. ROCKPOOL was backed to beat QUESTION MASTER in the Politician Stakes (Grade3) and did so with consummate ease. Others to watch of the older horses are HOEDSPRUIT, HAN SOLO and BARATHEON. The three year old challenge comes in the form of KINGS REGENT and ITSRAINING WILLIAM. ROCKPOOL. POMP AND POWER has a merit rating of 124 and should ROCKPOOL show his class to win this race easily then his merit rating will bring him up the Durban July Handicap log. ROCKPOOL is expected to win easily from POMP AND POWER and the improved HOEDSPRUIT. ROCKPOOL is currently 22/1 in the betting for the Durban July Handicap and is another contender who will shorten dramatically after this race.

Candice Bass-Robinson challenges for the WSB Ladies Mile with 5 contenders who all have HAPPY CHANCE and KWINTA'S LIGHT to beat. This race is a match between the three year old and four year old fillies with the exception of the five year old mare DO ANGELS CRY. HAPPY CHANCE made good acceleration on the inside rail to beat KWINTA'S LIGHT in the WSB Sweet Chestnut Stakes (Listed) over 1400M, after KWINTA'S LIGHT tried to win from start to finish. The two renew their rivalry and if KWINTA'S LIGHT is tucked in today over the extra 200M it will make for a thrilling finish. GOLD POKER GAME and GOING UP are the best from the BASS stable who will be at their best to beat HAPPY CHANCE. HAPPY CHANCE is expected to win from KWINTA'S LIGHT, GOLD POKER GAME and GOING UP.

The LTF team try to make the card simple for you and in race 1 is a race between CAPTAIN ARROW and COASTAL COMMANDER.

In race 2 LIP SYNC and ONI SAN both have good winning chances.

In Race 3 CAFE CULTURE and WILLIAM WEST will have to be at their best to beat the much talked about debutant QUESTIONING.

In Race 4 is an Open Maiden Handicap which truly is an affair. The run of APPLE CATCHER around the Durbanville turn and extra 50M is best ignored. SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL was struck on the head in the finish against LOOK FORWARD and LADY RENEE. FUTURE CONTRACT is the improver in the race along with LOOK FORWARD who could be used as floating bankers in a trifectas and quartets.

Race 5 is a race between the improver FINAL EDITION and GIMME THE BEST. Others in contention for honours are AUTUMN MOON, RUN RUDOLPH RUN, GREEN MANDARIN and MARSHALL FIELD.

Race 6 is a race between FALLO ANCORA and GO LIKE FLO. The well bred BO KAAP could show improvement over this distance.

LUNCH MONEY in the 9th race is the value bet and has SWIFT ACTION, NIGHT TIGER, DANCE VARIETY and MIGHTY MAC to beat.

The Durban July shortlist below which can be played in doubles and trebles with the big question today being answered if ROCKPOOL is good enough to be added to the list of:

Best Bet on the card is:

Race 8 - ROCKPOOL @ 15/10

The Value Bet is in Race 9 - LUNCH MONEY @ 9/1

Look out for the LTF BIPOT and PA and PIC6 Perms

Let's hope we can once again find you the winners.

Happy Punting
