Who are "Live the Fantasy"? They are a group of the top Fantasy Racing players. Here is the Live the Fantasy review for today.
It is difficult to come back to bread and butter races the day after a feature race day. It calls to mind that these races are just as important in grooming future feature race winners. Here we have a mixed bag of horses. There are debutants coming out for the first time, some with whispers of how good they are working so we look at breading to assist. Horses run in divisions, some go straight through the divisions and others are highly thought of and go straight to the feature races.
The aim is to win as many races as possible going through the divisions however there is a handicapper who has merit ratings which play a big part. Weight stops trains but the astute way of using an apprentice allowance can bring a horse back into the picture. Every horse has its limits and once a horse is caught up by the handicapper then this horse will contest races where the merit rating drops to a point where it can win again.
Others are dropped from feature races with a high merit rating and contest races where they could win at a division suitable to their ability. Every owner wants to own a horse with no limits. The punter is constantly trying to find the horse who is contesting the right race in order to back it as the winner. There are times when we are spot on other times the improver catches us out. At the end of the day we look at strike rate and profit.
The LTF will be taking a look at the week's racing to highlight a few horses who may be worth having a go on. In stand-alone meetings we only look to make money using the horses which are running on the day, however, backing one or two horses in a meeting could be profitable if they are included in multiples onto another future meeting where betting is opened. Upcoming meetings are Greyville Polly, Vaal and Kenilworth.
Race 2 – Greyville Polly UNITED'S RANSOM @ 3/1 could go all the way from the front on the Greyville Polly.
Race 4 Vaal - WOODLAND GLADE @12/10 should win at the second time of asking at the VAAL.
Race 7 Vaal - READY TO CHARGE @ 5/2 is a horse who could be contesting feature races.
Race 8 Vaal – KINKY BOOTS @ 13/2 comes in with a very light weight over 1400m.
Race 8 Kenilworth – ROYAL AUSSIE @ 3/1.
