I am working on a better betting structure for my selections, please bear with me and give me your opinion after racing today.

My theory is that I have put a great deal of work into finding the best 3 horses in each race where I believe the trainer is actually trying to win the race today and not just prepping for a future race or just getting the horses fit.

Where it is profitable to bet on all three selections for the same stake, and make a profit whichever wins is the goal.

In the table (see video above), 5 races would qualify this afternoon, and the % column shows the risk. The lower the number, the higher the risk.

My stakes are to spend R1000 per race with R333 bet on each.

My tests so far have been very profitable.

Please check it out. The odds shown are those of Interbet when I made the selections. If 2.1 or more is not available on the lowest price, then no bet.

I am looking for small but steady profits by backing several selections in the same race. This is probably the least popular bet with the bookie as it is difficult to win from the serious punter. For this to be profitable, we need the lowest price horse to be 5/2 or better. If this cannot be found then move on to the next race and play small pick 3's for fun.

RACE 1

A tricky Maiden race and not one I really want to get involved with. There is no significant betting on any of the horses, The favourite Is # 1 REAL ADVISOR which has drifted from the opening price, however, Andre Nel has got a good record in Port Elizabeth. His stable is now in form so if you must have a bet I would suggest that you take a chance in this weak lineup. I see that this horse is down to run on Monday if not winning today.

Note that #5 CARMELA [Sorry, now scratched] is an anticipated springer and and the Greeff / Cheyne combination is often deadly. Watch #8 PEARL DANCER, a stable change now in Jacques Strydom yard with his son Kyle.

RACE 2

This is a weak maiden race. #5 PURE QUALITY has run well in two recent runs and is steady at 7/1, chance this field #11 PARIS OPERA is the early rage odds-on at 0.75, may drift to evens or better. The Greeff / Cheyne combo must be respected.

Others to note, #1 PRIVATE INITIATIVE could win if fit, but that is unknown due to long layoff.
