Monday's Greyville meeting started with a good win for VEGAS GOLD under Warren Kennedy with the market rival LA FILLE only 3rd.
Race 2 was delayed by horse's playing up at the start, resulting in 2 late scratchings. The second favourite CORNER CRUSADE was first vetted and passed fit to run, a few horse's played up including FIAMETTA and was eventually taken out and scratched. This resulted in CORNER CRUSADE playing up again and being scratched resulting in a 20% deduction.
Warren Kennedy eventually got his double with CRAZY BLUES winning well. The issue of horse's playing up while loading in South Africa is a big problem and needs to be addressed. In my opinion the fairest rule is if a horse plays up it is an automatic scratching. This stops delays and if horse's passed fit run badly then the public say why did it run. A simple policy of play up and scratch is much fairer.

Sean Veale got LET'S NOT LINGER for Tony Rivalland to beat ROYAL KITTY the favourite in a tight finish. The red hot Keagan de Melo won race 7 for Mr Sewgoolam and Alyson Wright beating GOLDEN ARCHER and HOT MONEY.
The final race had added excitement as 1 person was live in the Hollywood Punters challenge on EVENING PRIMROSE who obliged under Anton Marcus pulled out to run on winning going away and change this 47 year old Phoenix Mans life winning 2,3 million. He didn't even know he won until he was phoned. He was unsure of his last 3 selections so used his lucky number 4. He definitely benefited from the scratching of CORNER CRUSADE as the rules give the tote favourite which won.
It's good to have competitions like this and the Fantasy Racing where the average punter can win for free or a small outlay.
