With the Summer Cup only one week away, here is the Racecard: The 2020 Summer Cup Racecard.
Trainer Sean Tarry leads with five horses entered in the Summer Cup. Sean will be bidding for his fourth win on the trot.
He is followed by trainer Paul Peter with three entries in the big race:
Gavin Lerena, riding for Sean Tarry, and Piere Strydom, riding for Paul Peter, are the winning-most Summer Cup jockeys with three winners each this century.
Trainer St John Gray has two horses carded for the Summer Cup but has at the time of publishing the card not allocated jockeys yet.
Mike de Kock is taking his chances with CHARLES who came second in the PEERMONT EMPERORS PALACE CHARITY MILE on 31 October.
Paul Matchett entered the very fancied RUNNING BRAVE with Muzi Yeni taking the reigns.
Gary Alexander has jockey Craig Zackey riding HERO'S HONOUR which came third in the PINNACLE STAKES at Turffontein on 19 September but ran below form on 31 October in the much shorter PEERMONT EMPERORS PALACE CHARITY MILE.
CROWN TOWERS (AUS) who won the MICHAELMAS HANDICAP over 1900m on 18 October in Greyville has Richard Fourie riding him. Trained by Justin Snaith he did not fair as well in Turffontein at a shorter distance in the PEERMONT EMPERORS PALACE CHARITY MILE.
Raymond Danielson, who won on LIEGE in 2017 and rides DIVINE ODYSSEY trained by J A Janse van Vuuren, and S'Manga Khumalo, who partnered Wagner in 2012 and jumps aboard the fancied PACK LEADER trained by Alec Laird, are the only other riders with a past victory in the Summer Cup.
