Greyville - 22 November

The first of two back to back meetings at Durban's city track, Hollywoodbets Greyville on Sunday. The Ghostryder tipped 6 straight winners at last Sunday's KZN meeting and is hopefully backing that up this weekend.

Nino Podesta, our regular Eastern Cape pundit takes a look at the 9 races on the polytrack at Fairview tomorrow and suggests a Bipot and a WIN-WIN double. Maybe it pays to follow!

Vaal - 19 November

A day of straight racing at the Vaal on Thursday and Neil and Nico have been working hard to continue an excellent 48 hours of tipping on Tuesday and Wednesday. Let's hope that it's three in a row for Clocking The Gallop. Very competitive and well worth the watch.

Kenilworth - Wednesday 18 November

Shaheen Shaw and Neil Andrews preview the 8 race card from Cape Town.

Shaheen suggests a Cover Bi-Pot perm, while both like a 33-1 roughie to run into the placings.

Vaal - 17 November

In a very lengthy debate on the 8 races, Nico and Neil dissect the card and it is very tough. Many imponderables. Will there be a track bias up the straight? The selections are done assuming NOT. Put it this way, the Clocking The Gallop team are not going to a gun fight with a knife! Be prepared for the prognosis.

Fairview - 16 November

It is the second of two polytrack race meetings at Fairview in 4 days and Nino Podesta has studied the card furiously in order to try and find some value on the card. Although the best bet is short priced, try his suggested Bipot and race by race quartets.

Greyville (Poly) - Sunday 15 November

Sunday racing is at Hollywoodbets Greyville on the polytrack surface. There are 9 races carded and the Ghostryder, fresh off a very successful tipping day on Thursday, is confident of the selections on Clocking The Gallop.

Turffontein - Saturday 14 November

Neil and Nico have a lengthy discussion on the 9 races carded at Turffontein Racecourse in Johannesburg today and also discuss the last 2 days of the US Masters tournament at Augusta.

Fairview - 13 November

We decided that we wanted the world to meet our Fairview guru, Nino Podesta and so for the first time, Nino joins Nico live on the show to discuss the selections for the 9 races on the polytrack surface tomorrow. There are 2 exotic bets, 2 best bets and a value bet for you to try.

On Tuesday night there was significant overnight rain at Turffontein and the track will be soft for todays 8 race card.

Kenilworth - Tuesday 10 November

Racing is in Cape Town on Tuesday. We race on the Winter Course at Kenilworth. Rouvaun Smit & Shaheen Shaw talk Neil Andrews through their PA & BiPot perms respectively.

The Vaal Work Riders' Day 9 November

A very tricky card awaits all at the Vaal on Monday as it is the first out of 3 race meetings in the season dedicated to the work riders. James Maree's program has had sterling results and most of the riders are able to hold their own over any trip. General advice is to follow the in form riders with good track records.

Greyville - 8 November

Sheldon Peters is back for more after a corker of a day midweek. There are big fields and who better to separate the wheat from the chaff. 8 races on the turf and expected to be a scorcher of a day weather wise.

7 November (Turffontein & Kenilworth)


A tremendous card awaits punters in Cape Town on Saturday with 3 Features races to be contested. Shaheen Shaw and Rouvaun Smit talk to Neil Andrews and share their combined R288 Bi-Pot perm.


It is a beautiful Saturday morning in Johannesburg. Nico and Neil discuss the card at Turffontein on the standside track. We will see the much awaited return to racing of Equus Horse Of The Year Summer Pudding and some decent runners as the Joburg season winds up culminating in the WSB Summer Cup at the end of the month.

Fairview - 6 November

Clocking The Gallop PE expert Nino Podesta sheds light on the 9 races due to be run at Fairview on the polytrack surface on Friday. Nino has a few aces up his sleeve in terms of outsiders and shares his Bipot and Place Accumulator with you.

Vaal - 5 November

It is a touching moment for us on Clocking The Gallop to welcome back Neil Andrews to the channel. He has studied the Vaal card with great fervour as only he can and there is lots of value to be had on this card. Nico and Neil are not swayed by the bookmakers' prices!

Greyville (Poly) 4 November

Lyall Cooper is an absolute workhorse when it comes to studying form and we decided to tap into the way he sees the form working out at the big Turffontein race meeting on Saturday. We go through the 10 races carded.


The Cape team of Shaheen Shaw and Rouvaun Smit are back with their selections for the 8 races at Kenilworth. There is a suggested Bipot and Place Accumulator and the team discuss the merits of a few talented three year olds up against their elders.

Fairview (Poly) 30 October

On the back of 2 winning bipots in the Eastern Cape, Nino Podesta joins Nico Kritsiotis to discuss the polytrack race meeting at Fairview on Friday. He goes through his selections in preferential order for the 8 races carded.

It is a welcome return to Clocking The Gallop for Darryl Maree. He assesses the form for the 10 race Vaal card and sums it up very succinctly. We also update our viewers on Neil's condition after his operation yesterday.

It is midweek racing in Durban at Hollywoodbets Greyville and the Ghostryder has a suggested Place Accumulator and 3 value bets for you to try out tomorrow. The team were in sparkling form in Cape Town today and we hope to capitalize on that throughout the rest of the week.

Kenilworth - 27 October

Shaheen Shaw and Rouvaun Smit are based in Cape Town and focus on their Tuesday racing at Kenilworth. There seems to be a lot of consensus and there is a suggested Bipot and Place Accumulator perm awaiting you. It's been a tough few days but our team is confident of bouncing back strongly on Tuesday.

Fairview (Poly) - Monday 26 October

It's a PE race meeting on Monday on the polytrack surface and we welcome back Nino Podesta after a very popular introduction to our show last Friday. He has come armed! 5 best bets on the 9 race card. And it works out at 25/1 if you are willing to take the gamble. In the Bipot last leg, please replace the 4 with a 3.

Greyville (Turf) - 25 October

Greyville plays host to a 9 race turf meeting today with 4 of those races restricted to apprentice jockeys. The Ghostryder is back and suggests a bipot for R288.
